"In 2003 while in high school when my shoe got spoilt I had no money to buy new shoes so I had to use my brain, creativity and what I had in hand at that moment."

Kenneth Hafianyo

Kenneth was born in 1985 in Keta, the Volta Region of Ghana, but grew up in the capital city HO. At a young age, in primary school, he became aware of his artistic potential when his schoolmates  would pay him to do their art homework.

From then Kenneth always remembered that art could eventually become his way in life.  After his junior year in high school he chose visual ARTs as a course in his senior year and studied textiles, graphic design and general knowledge in arts (GKA) as his elective subjects .

Due to a lack of financial support, Kenneth had to work and sell on the market during his childhood in order to pay his lunch in school. He also worked straight after completing high school so he could go on with his education.

Kenneth had many different jobs along the years (cook, journalist, DJ, event manager...) he even took an ICT training in 2005 where he studied computer hardware and sotfware, Corel Draw and Photoshop, which earned him a job in a music production entity named Jat Music in Togo as a graphic designer. In 2008 Kenneth moved to Nigeria with his friend Joshua where he worked as a chef and later was trained as a nutritionist. However he never stopped creating at any spare moment he got.

Kenneth moved back to Ghana in 2011 and Got a job in "Ghana Highway Authority" but he wasn't so confident with a government job so he decided to study at the same time at Ho Polytechnic. He resigned in 2013 because he worked part time at "Anointed Batik Centre" in Ho which made him much happier and fulfilled.

His passion for colors, motifs and designs became stronger and stronger up to the point where he needed to pursue his dream of creating again.

That's when he started attracting tourists and other people in his area who really valued his work and creations and that encouraged him to continue.

Working at Anointed Batik Center wasn't creative enough because it just felt repetitive and didn't fill Kenneth's hunger for innovation so he decided to create Dzogbefa.

Kenneth's Ghanian name

DZOGBENYUI + EMEFA

This is how  Dzogbefa was created in the summer of 2015. The dream is to make Dzogbefa the biggest African brand in the world and for that Kenneth always say:
